A Hurting Word...
It's pretend time--Halloween is in the air! There's goblins
and ghosts, witches and warriors, imps and imposters--but hold on
to your mask a minute! The celebration of Halloween is not
as pretend as you think. There's real evil behind it all,
and it's about time we unmask the great pretender for who he is!
Matter of fact, one of his allies was in my chat room last night,
with all of his bold and brazen vulgarity--Christians prayed and I
blocked as fast as I could! We live in an evil
world....let's arise as Christians and tell it like it is.
Satan is god of this world...but he's NOT God....he's a pretender,
that's all...but he's duping the world around us. Come with
me to the Well...Jesus is there--and it's time for the unmasking!
A Helping Word...or Two!
Pretender of Love!
We live in a love-sick world! It's not love--it's lust, and
it's on the screen and in the sewer; it sells books and
bargains--it's everywhere! Ask our teens who fight
temptation every day. Ask our adults who do the same.
Ask the search engines--"seek and ye shall find" is not just a
Biblical phrase anymore! Evil, sin, illicit sex,
perversion--losing the virginity of kids, lessening the worth of
women and leeching the hearts of men--it's Halloween every day,
and it's NO party!
Well, it's NOT the real thing...it's pretend! Jesus Christ
brings real love to the human soul. He blesses real love
between a husband and a wife. He brings real love in
families and real caring in friends--for He IS love. He's
the source and satisfaction for every hunger of the human
condition. HIS love is no pretense--it's for real and it can be
yours!
Pretender of Joy!
We live in a laughing world! It's on the late-night shows
and in the bars; it sells videos and vice--it's everywhere!
Sin is FUN--it's free and it's forever, so drink up, enjoy
life--let's party! Singles meet singles again and
again--what fun and frolic! Then our blended families try to cope
with what's left and bring some sense into the disorder the "fun"
created! Humor abounds on the Web--and it's not all funny!
Search for the smut and the sin--and you'll find it. A
barrel of laughs? It sure is--the bottom of the barrel!
Well, it's NOT the real thing...it's pretend! Jesus Christ
brings real joy to the human soul. He brings joy to a
marriage, to a home, to a life. He fills a heart with
gladness. He brings joy in worship, in His Word, and in His
Will. He is the source of real joy...joy that fills the
spirits and overflows the life. HIS joy is no pretense--it's
for real, and it can be yours!
Pretender of Peace!
We live in a
light-filled world--it's getting better and better; we're evolving
into a new world of peace and personal fulfillment--a "new age,"
and there's tapes, books and videos to prove it. There's
angels to prove it too--visit some of the "angel of light" sites
on the Web and you'll get all the "enlightenment" you want!
If you're not discerning within your spirit, you'll be
tricked--and treated to a dark deception! It's not pure peace and
it's not light, not at all!
For it's NOT the real thing...it's pretend! Jesus Christ
brings real Light to the human soul. He is the Light of the
World. He brings His light to your mind and you understand His
Word. He brings His light to your soul and you live in His
peace. It's a peace that lights up your heart and you live
in His calm. He is the source of real peace...peace that
passes understanding. HIS peace is no pretense--it's for
real, and it can be yours!
Are you living in a world of pretend? Let the great
pretender trick you no longer, for his bag of tricks is full of
poison. Candy for the senses--and death for the soul! It's
not worth it--wise up--tear off the devil's mask of deception from
your blinded eyes and meet the Great Provider--the One who alone
can give you REAL love, joy and peace. His Name is JESUS,
and HE'S for real!
...and that's just a thought or two--from my heart to yours!

great pretender has blinded my eyes, and I now choose to tear off
his mask, and see Your glorious truth. YOU are greater--YOU
are real--and I choose to serve YOU this day, In Jesus' Name.
